Class "D" Security Officer Course
An applicant for a Class "D" license must complete a minimum of 40 hours of professional training at a school or training facility licensed by the State of Florida.
However, any person whose security license has been revoked, suspended, or expired for 1 year or longer is considered, upon reapplication for a license, an initial applicant and must submit proof of successful completion of 40 hours of professional training at a school or training facility licensed by the State of Florida.

Class "G" Statewide Firearms Course
In order to qualify for the Class "G" license, you must have successfully completed 28 hours of range and classroom training provided by a licensed Class âKâ Firearms Instructor within the preceding 12 months. The Firearms Instructor will issue a Certificate of Firearms Proficiency (Form DACS-16005) to you upon completion of this training. A copy of this certificate must be included with your application. .
Class "W" Concealed Weapon or Firearm Course
Students will learn the basic requirements for carrying a concealed weapon or firearm in the State of Florida. Concealed weapons or concealed firearms are defined as a handgun, electronic weapon or device, tear gas gun, knife, or Billie.
The licensee must carry the license, together with valid identification, at all times in which the licensee is in actual possession of a concealed weapon or firearm and must display both the license and proper identification upon demand by a law enforcement officer.
Such license shall be valid throughout the state for a period of 7 years from the date of issuance.
